Erin Barker: Louisiana Artist of The Year!

My fabulous sister won the Louisiana Culture Award for Artist of the Year! Yay sister! Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne presented at the Capitol Park Museum in Baton Rouge yesterday night. It was a lovely event with live music and awesome food. It was the culmination of Culture Connection, which was a day long event organized by the Louisiana Partnership for the Arts with the Louisiana Office of Cultural Development. She was recognized for her artistic ability as well as her dedication to art education and art as therapy. She was also mentioned in the Jambalaya article on Harbor House where she teaches art (see here). And she has a fantastic exhibit at Central School Friday April 26th 5-9 PM as part of the Spring Art Walk in Lake Charles. We are so proud of her for following her dream no matter what :) She is awesome.
