Galveston

For as long as I can remember, my family has been invited by my Nana (Robbie, my mother's sister) to her timeshare in Galveston, TX. I grew up sort of feeling as it was my beach house, too. I have never ever been there without my Nana. I remember her always reading her books on the porch in her sun hat with my mom. I remember her playing Mexican dominoes or solitaire at the dining table. I remember her patiently reading to my little cousin Meredith and Madeline last summer before she died... I hate saying that she died, but she did. I was afraid going to the beach house without her or her family would make me unbelievably sad, but it actually made me the opposite. I felt her there, and I just felt happy. Of course I pictured her there in the kitchen, or on the swing downstairs, but those are such good memories! I felt so blessed to be able to bring my kids there last weekend and to share Las Brisas with them once again! Thanks Uncle Keith for sharing it with us!!

 The cool kids...
Poor Ev trying in vain to rake up the seaweed! Yuck it was so thick! The kids did not care much, though (and as a side note, this is a normal occurrence for Galveston. It only happens once in a while, not all the time) The beautiful weather made up for it :)

We were there at the beginning of MAy and that dirty seaweed was quite a downer. We've gone to Galveston since I was a kid as well... does your aunt have the Las Brisas time share too?
