Kindergarten "Stepping Up"
Today we had Madeline's kindergarten program. It was so sweet and familiar. It was our first of many ceremonies and events at OLQH, and it really had me emotional. Watching my daughter walk up on to the alter area with her class was just surreal. That was me 26 years ago. Some things change...the uniforms for one, and the children and teachers are almost all different...but it is the same in a warm homey kind of way. That church is were I celebrated mass weekly attending OLQH, where I made all of my sacraments, where I was later married, and where all of my children were baptized. I sat there and enjoyed the guitar playing of Pam Fontenot and the flute by Kelly Babineaux...wow, same as when I was little. But it was when Madeline's class began to sing, complete with hand motions, "If I Were a Butterfly" I almost lost it. I mean my baby was singing the most memorable song of my childhood years at OLQH...That is when I knew we were right where we were supposed to be. This is what I always imagined :)
