A Day at the Park
Yesterday we packed up the kids and went out to Sam Houston for a picnic. As many of you know, I spent a lot of time there as a child. My family rented cabins for the weekends, and I remember a few camp-outs with the Prejeans and the Viators as well! I was very nostalgic remembering all the trail walks and bike adventures...The park is being renovated to repair the damage from the recent hurricanes, so there was a little mess and less water in the marshy areas. The deer enclosure has been removed, but Donnie assures me that the deer are still around and sometimes come up to people to eat from their hands. It was a beautiful day with the crisp air and blue sky. Madeline had a blast feeding the ducks and playing on the playground (which is a huge upgrade compared to the metal slide that we used to play on...) Parker just relaxed, put his feet up and enjoyed being pushed around.
